Fly Fishing in Devon for Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon
on the rivers Taw, Upper Teign and on Dartmoor

Our guide/instructor has a lifetime of experience fishing on these rivers and in addition is able to offer fly fishing tuition on Kennick Reservoir and on a private lake which is ideal for teaching beginners. We are also able to advise on accommodation in the area including country hotels, inns, bed and breakfast and self catering cottages.
Sea Trout and Salmon fishing on the internationally famous Taw and Upper Teign continues to improve and at the right time of year with good water conditions these rivers offer an excellent chance of catching a fish. Fishing for wild Brown Trout on the Upper Teign, Taw and the many small streams of Dartmoor is superb and can be challenging but the reward of catching truly perfect wild Brown Trout makes it well worth the effort. The fish are not large and a fish of 12'' would be considered an excellent specimen.
Access to the West Country is simple by car via the M5, an excellent rail service to Exeter or by flying into the nearby Exeter Airport.
Your guide/instructor will provide you with instruction in the appropriate local fly fishing techniques and, if required, fly casting tuition and loan of all the necessary fly fishing tackle, waders, flies etc. Spinning for Salmon is available on some beats at certain times of the year with tackle and instruction provided. Your guide can also collect you from a local accommodation or railway station.
Cost
Guided days or fly fishing tuition days for river Brown Trout and stillwater Rainbow Trout start from as little as £164 (from £179 in the April to October season), days fishing for Sea Trout or Salmon may be more depending on the river/beat fished.
What to expect
Our highly experienced local guide and fully qualified fly fishing instructors are able to teach single handed trout casting and in addition they will teach you the essential and most effective fishing methods and techniques.
A day out with our guide will teach you lessons for life that will enable you to catch more fish and therefore increase your enjoyment of fly fishing.
